IEEE Women in Engineering – Affinity Group under St.Joseph’s College of Engineering in Collaboration with IEEE IEEE Student Branch Chapter of St.Joseph’s College of Engineering organized “CONOCITHON-It’s not a Bug, It’s a Feature” in collaboration with IEEE Inspire India funded by the IEEE Madras Section on the occasion of IEEE Day. The inaugural ceremony for both 12 hours and 24 hours tracks was initiated at 7:00 PM on 01-10-2021 with Mr Mohd Hafiz Ismail, REGIONAL LEAD FOR REGION 10 – MALAYSIA SECTION, as the Chief Guest who shared a few words of wisdom to the gathering. After the inaugural, the 24-hour track started at 08.00 PM on 01-10-2021. The themes were HealthCare, Artificial Intelligence, and Transformative Transportation, and a bonus theme “Education and Agriculture” was provided during the start of the event. The 12 hours track started sharply at 08.00 AM on October 2, 2021. Both the track participants were instructed to report to the coordinators every 2 hours. The participants were requested to submit their presentation and the prototype or a software model at 5.00 PM on October 2, 2021. The participants had their validation session with the juries for their respective themes at 06.00 PM on October 2, 2021. The Juries for the session were Mr Jeet Dagha, Mr Saurabh, Mr Amanpreet Singh, Mr Kirtiraj R Garud. The Participants were judged based on innovation, time management, selection of problem statements, presentation, and queries session by the juries. The Valedictory Ceremony started on October 05, 2021, with Dr N. Kumarappan, the Chairman of the IEEE Madras Section as the chief guest. Our honourable chief guest Dr N. Kumarappan addressed our student branch and appreciated all the work and efforts to conduct such large-scale events. The winners for the Conocithon event were announced. The SBC Advisor, Dr Jayarama Pradeep, and the SBC Counselor, Mr Sreekanth R shared their valuable words with the participants and the coordinators of the conocithon event. Our journey through Conocithon was made as a video and was presented in the valedictory ceremony. The coordinators were honored by certificates and mementos. The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms Swetha B, the Program Coordinator of IEEE SJCE SBC.
