IEEE Madras Section Women in Engineering Affinity Group, organized and IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Women in Engineering Affinity Group, hosted “Connecting the Dots 3.0” on 4th September 2024. The event took place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Basil hall, featuring various student branches in participation. The program included a speaker session, student branch presentations, and a student speaker session.
The event was inaugurated with a lighting ceremony led by distinguished guests, including Dr. T. Sree Sharmila (Chair – IEEE MAS WIE AG), Dr. Jayarama Pradeep (Executive Member – IEEE MAS WIE AG), Mr. Niranjan Kumar (Executive Member – IEEE MAS WIE AG), and Ms. Abinaiya Sri (Executive Member – IEEE MAS WIE AG). Keynote addresses were delivered by Mrs. Kavitha Anbarasu (Director H1 at Toastmasters Club) and Mrs. Vijaya Sanchana Reddy (Software Architect at Vantiva).
Following the keynote sessions, student branches presented their Student Branch Presentation, and student speakers shared their insights and personal journeys with IEEE. The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony where two winners were awarded certificates and books: Pannimalar Engineering College and KPR Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. The second prize was secured by St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, and Jeppiar College of Engineering won third place. Special mentions were given to Sairam College of Engineering and Vel Tech. Certificates were awarded to all participants, and mementos and books were presented to the guests as tokens of gratitude.
Outcome of the Event: “Connecting the Dots 3.0” successfully brought together a vibrant community of students and professionals, providing a platform for knowledge-sharing and networking. The event promoted collaboration among various student branches, encouraging them to present innovative ideas and share their experiences. It also highlighted the importance of leadership, teamwork, and personal growth within IEEE, particularly in the Women in Engineering community. Participants gained valuable insights into career development, and the event strengthened the bond between student branches and IEEE professionals.
