ELECTION DAY

 

    IEEE ANP and COMSOC SJCE SB – AG in association with IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Chapter conducted an ELECTION EVENT on 19-07-2024. The event, named “IEEE Election Day”, was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with IEEE.

Associated Societies:

The event took place at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, OMR, Chennai – 119, ECE Third Floor Lab, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Students from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering participated, contesting for the positions of Chair Person, Vice Chair Person, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer.

Event Summary: The election aimed to fill key positions within the IEEE student chapter, with members participating actively to ensure a fair and transparent process. Faculty members and representatives from IEEE societies oversaw the election.

Election Results: IEEE Communications Society Office Bearers:

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Office Bearers:

Observations: The election was conducted smoothly, with no significant issues. The participation was commendable, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of the IEEE student chapter. The newly elected office bearers are expected to lead effectively, fostering growth and engagement in IEEE activities.

Conclusion: The IEEE Election Day was successful, achieving its objective of electing new leaders for the IEEE student chapter. The department and associated IEEE societies look forward to supporting the new office bearers in their endeavors.

Mani Sha N is a Pre-final year student currently pursuing an Undergraduate in the domain of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai. He is an active volunteer in the Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE). He is currently volunteering as Chairperson of IEEE SJCE SB மாணவர் மன்றம் in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He is also volunteering as a Web Designer in IEEE Madras Section under Section Student Coordination Team 2021. He has coordinated many Student Branch events Pels Jamboree, Pelzine- A Student Magazine, Sayonara, Conocithon, etc, and Section events MAS E TECH, MASCON, Know Your IEEE series, UPSKILl, etc. He completed his internship in Embedded Systems – Microcontrollers and Peripherals at Emcog Solutions at Mogappair, Chennai. He completed three mini projects in Embedded Systems and completed a hardware project in Robotics as Obstacle Avoider. He is currently doing his intern in Devtown as a Full Stack Web Developer. He is an enthusiast and a time-oriented person.

Mr.AV.Prasanthkumar is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering third-year student at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering in Chennai. He is a Publicity team lead of the IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He has coordinated school programmes and activities for the IEEE Flagship. He is an incredibly creative graphic designer that specialises in Canva and Wordpress. He has helped to the events by providing various posters. He did an internship in graphic design and attended a variety of workshops. He held a webinar in 2020 for first-year students on the topic “Perks of Becoming a Graphic Designer,” which the students found incredibly beneficial and inspirational. Prasanth is a promising young talent who works carefully each day to refine his abilities and produce a higher-quality product.
