IEEE PES SJCE SB- in association with IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student chapter conducted a webinar session “EXPERT EDGE” on 16/04/2024.The topic of session was “AI MODELLING IN ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE” presented by  Mr. Nitin Mane –  Arm Dev Ambassador-Intel® Certified oneAPI Instructor & Software Innovator – Google Innovator, Tester and Mentor-IEEE Volunteer – Software Engineer .Students from the pre-final year, and second year of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering participated. During an informative session titled “AI Modeling in Electrical Technology Development and Maintenance” at the Expert Edge event, attendees were enlightened about the significant role of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping the landscape of the electrical industry. The speaker provided an overview of how AI-driven modeling techniques are revolutionizing various aspects of technology development and maintenance within the electrical domain. Through insightful discussions and practical examples, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data to predict equipment failures, optimize system performance, and enhance overall reliability. The session underscored the importance of integrating AI into smart grid technologies for efficient energy distribution and grid management. Overall, participants left the session equipped with valuable knowledge and insights to leverage AI advancements effectively in their professional endeavors within the electrical sector. Attendees engaged in a Q&A session, gaining insights into practical implementation and innovation opportunities. Overall, the webinar provided valuable insights into transition from student to young professional. The participants were rewarded with E-certificate as a token of appreciation -Memento was awarded to the speaker by the end of the session.

Mani Sha N is a Pre-final year student currently pursuing an Undergraduate in the domain of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai. He is currently volunteering as Chairperson of IEEE SJCE SB மாணவர் மன்றம் in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He is also volunteering as a Web Designer in IEEE Madras Section under Section Student Coordination Team 2021. He has coordinated many Student Branch events Pels Jamboree, Pelzine- A Student Magazine, Sayonara, Conocithon, etc, and Section events MAS E TECH, MASCON, Know Your IEEE series, UPSKILl, etc. He completed his internship in Embedded Systems – Microcontrollers and Peripherals at Emcog Solutions at Mogappair, Chennai. He completed three mini projects in Embedded Systems and completed a hardware project in Robotics as Obstacle Avoider. He is currently doing his intern in Devtown as a Full Stack Web Developer. He is an enthusiast and a time-oriented person.
