IEEE PES SJCE SB- in association with IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student chapter conducted a webinar session “EXPERT EDGE” on 13/04/2024.the topic session was “IEEE JOURNEY – TRANSITION FROM STUDENT TO YOUNG PROFESSIONAL” presented by Mr. Gaurav Pathak – Communication Lead at IEEE PES day, IEEE PES MDC & IEEE PES R10 communications Ad Hoc Committee Member .Students from the pre-final year, and second year of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering participated. At the IEEE Journey event, “Expert Edge: Transition from Student to Young Professional,” he extended beyond the mere transition phase, delving into the pivotal roles played by IEEE volunteers and young professional members. Speakers highlighted the invaluable contributions of volunteers in fostering a supportive ecosystem for aspiring professionals, providing mentorship, and facilitating networking opportunities. They underscored the significance of active participation in IEEE chapters, committees, and technical societies as avenues for personal and professional growth. Moreover, insights were shared on the unique challenges faced by young professional members, such as balancing career aspirations with personal development and societal impact. Attendees gleaned valuable lessons on leveraging the vast resources and support networks within IEEE to navigate the complexities of early career stages, ultimately empowering them to make meaningful contributions to their fields and communities. Attendees engaged in a Q&A session, gaining insights into practical implementation and innovation opportunities. Overall, the webinar provided valuable insights into transition from student to young professional. The participants were rewarded with E-certificate as a token of appreciation -Memento was awarded to the speaker by the end of the session.Â
