Tips and Tricks to Win SIH 2024

On September 19, 2024, the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering organized a session titled “Tips and Tricks to Win SIH 2024,” featuring Ms. Jeyashri R, an Associate Software Engineer at Prodapt and SIH Winner 2022. The event, attended by around 20 students from the 3rd and 4th year of the EEE Department, focused on strategies for success in Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. Ms. Jeyashri shared her experience from SIH 2022, providing valuable insights on understanding problem statements, fostering team dynamics, innovative thinking, prototyping, and time management. Her practical advice and interactive Q&A session helped motivate students and better prepare them for the upcoming competition. 

Outcome:

students reported increased confidence in tackling problem statements and working as a team. They gained a clearer understanding of the SIH format and felt better equipped to develop innovative solutions and manage their time effectively during the hackathon.

He is currently volunteering as Chairperson of IEEE SJCE SB மாணவர் மன்றம் in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He is also volunteering as a Web Designer in IEEE Madras Section under Section Student Coordination Team 2021. He has coordinated many Student Branch events Pels Jamboree, Pelzine- A Student Magazine, Sayonara, Conocithon, etc, and Section events MAS E TECH, MASCON, Know Your IEEE series, UPSKILl, etc. He completed his internship in Embedded Systems – Microcontrollers and Peripherals at Emcog Solutions at Mogappair, Chennai. He completed three mini projects in Embedded Systems and completed a hardware project in Robotics as Obstacle Avoider. He is currently doing his intern in Devtown as a Full Stack Web Developer.
