VOICES OF IEEE (SESSION 3)

We the IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter (SBC60101) hosted the event “Voices of IEEE – Glimmer to Glory” on August 20, 2024, featuring Mrs. Leslie Martinich, an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer and Founder of Competitive Focus. The session, held via Zoom, focused on “The Future of Work: Engaged Leaders and Empowered Teams,” providing insights into leadership and team dynamics. Mrs. Martinich’s presentation emphasized the importance of adapting leadership strategies and empowering teams in the evolving work environment. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and IEEE members, who engaged in an interactive Q&A session. Attendees gained valuable knowledge and were inspired to actively participate in IEEE’s professional development opportunities. The event concluded with positive feedback, highlighting its relevance and the speaker’s impactful delivery. Nearly 30 students participated in this event.

OUTCOME: 

The session not only deepened participants’ understanding of future work dynamics but also motivated them to actively engage in their professional development through IEEE.

Mani Sha N is a Pre-final year student currently pursuing an Undergraduate in the domain of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai. He is an active volunteer in the Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE). He is currently volunteering as Chairperson of IEEE SJCE SB மாணவர் மன்றம் in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He is also volunteering as a Web Designer in IEEE Madras Section under Section Student Coordination Team 2021. He has coordinated many Student Branch events Pels Jamboree, Pelzine- A Student Magazine, Sayonara, Conocithon, etc, and Section events MAS E TECH, MASCON, Know Your IEEE series, UPSKILl, etc. He completed his internship in Embedded Systems – Microcontrollers and Peripherals at Emcog Solutions at Mogappair, Chennai. He completed three mini projects in Embedded Systems and completed a hardware project in Robotics as Obstacle Avoider. He is currently doing his intern in Devtown as a Full Stack Web Developer. He is an enthusiast and a time-oriented person.

Mr.AV.Prasanthkumar is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering third-year student at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering in Chennai. He is a Publicity team lead of the IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He has coordinated school programmes and activities for the IEEE Flagship. He is an incredibly creative graphic designer that specialises in Canva and Wordpress. He has helped to the events by providing various posters. He did an internship in graphic design and attended a variety of workshops. He held a webinar in 2020 for first-year students on the topic “Perks of Becoming a Graphic Designer,” which the students found incredibly beneficial and inspirational. Prasanth is a promising young talent who works carefully each day to refine his abilities and produce a higher-quality product.
