WHAT IF THE BIGGEST AI FEAR IS AI FEAR ITSELF

“We, IEEE Spectrum of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, conducted a Spectrum session. The speaker, .Ms. Shabana Asmeen, spoke on “.What if the biggest AI fear is AI fear itself ” on 18th March , 2024. The speaker enlightened us with the idea that “.In recent years, the rise of artificial intelligence has triggered a wave of apprehension and fear regarding its potential implications for humanity. From sci-fi dystopias to ethical concerns about autonomous decision-making, the fear of AI has become a prominent topic in both public discourse and academic circles. However, is this fear justified, or are we simply afraid of the unknown?.We will explore the origins of AI fear, dissecting its roots in popular culture, philosophical quandaries, and real-world technological advancements. Through a nuanced examination of the various dimensions of AI fear, we aim to uncover whether the biggest fear surrounding AI is, in fact, the fear itself. The session was held between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Our target audience were 2nd , 3rd and final years . A total of 27 participants participated and had an amazing experience during the meet, thoroughly enjoying the entire session. The speaker was  honored with an E-memento.

He is an active volunteer in the Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE). He is currently volunteering as Chairperson of IEEE SJCE SB மாணவர் மன்றம் in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter. He is also volunteering as a Web Designer in IEEE Madras Section under Section Student Coordination Team 2021. He has coordinated many Student Branch events Pels Jamboree, Pelzine- A Student Magazine, Sayonara, Conocithon, etc, and Section events MAS E TECH, MASCON, Know Your IEEE series, UPSKILl, etc. He completed his internship in Embedded Systems – Microcontrollers and Peripherals at Emcog Solutions at Mogappair, Chennai. He completed three mini projects in Embedded Systems and completed a hardware project in Robotics as Obstacle Avoider. He is currently doing his intern in Devtown as a Full Stack Web Developer. He is an enthusiast and a time-oriented person.
