The IEEE Power Electronics Society Of St.Joseph’s College Of Engineering Conducted “FLASH PITCH” a brain-twisting technical online event, exclusively for second and third year students, on May 16th, 2022. This event is an Idea pitch, where participants have to share their views on how to solve the given problem and the topic given was “How the risks in nuclear power plants can be reduced?”. A total of around 15 people took part. The event went well and the interaction between the students was highly encouraging. The participants shared their expertise. The discussion was based on how the risks in nuclear power plants can be reduced. The control of nuclear hazards by monitoring radioactivity around disposal sites and prevention of any drilling activity in and around the waste disposal sites were discussed. The steps to minimize harm and security risks of nuclear power plants were also discussed. E-certificates were sent to all the participants. The student coordinators for this event were Divyalakshmi G, Dharani V, Abikshitha R, Faizaan Ahmed Y, Dhinakaran S, and Naveen D.
