IEEE St. JOSEPH’S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING STUDENT BRANCH CHAPTER in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an industrial visit to the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Pallikaranai on September 27th, 2024, involving students from third-year Section B. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with exposure to cutting-edge research and technology related to oceanic studies and marine engineering. During the visit, students explored various research labs and observed advanced equipment used in underwater exploration, ocean resource management, and coastal engineering projects.
This visit enabled students to connect their academic knowledge with groundbreaking developments in ocean technology. By interacting with researchers and witnessing the real-world applications of electrical and electronics engineering in the field of ocean science, students gained a unique perspective on how their field contributes to environmental and marine sustainability.
OUTCOME:
The industrial visit offered students a thorough understanding of ocean technology and the applications of engineering principles in marine environments. This hands-on experience broadened their knowledge and prepared them for innovative challenges in the emerging fields of marine and environmental engineering.
