IEEE Women In Engineering Affinity Group of St Joseph’s College of Engineering along with the IEEESB of SJCE organised a Panel Discussion – “Out To Win” on the topic “Women – An Influencer of Society” on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8th 2022 from 3:00 pm to 4:30pm IST. Ms. Sinjini Sengupta, being one of the panellists and founder of Lighthouse and also the President of WICCI, emphasised the need of women breaking out of their shells and realising their own worth.She stated that the mind and body are intertwined, and that being present is crucial.Our Second Panellist, Ms. Karen Pedersen, IEEE president of USA in 2017, talked about her professional life experiences, memorable occasions, and provided valuable suggestions for women’s empowerment.Ms. Karen Oldhoven, our third panellist and founder of Personal Branding Agency, shared her personal experiences as well as the importance of women in society. She also discussed the importance of women’s strength. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, being our fourth panellist and the IEEE WIE Chair Elect 2022, shared her own life experiences and she quoted “You should select a goal and work towards it without looking back”.Our final Panellist , Ms. Kathleen Kramer, Director of IEEE region-6 2017 to 2018, drew the attention of a large crowd with her captivating speech. She discussed the main themes concerning women’s business, particularly for homemakers.
