WOMANSERA 21 – An International WIE Symposium

ARDUINO CIRCUIT EVENT

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA 21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such technical event is the Arduino Circuit Event which was held on 04.09.2021. About 32 students participated in the event and explained their designed Arduino circuit.  The event was hosted by Ms.K.Sunitha and the event were coordinated by Mr.N.S.Abishlal and Ms.A.Thavaloshini. Among the 32 participants, One was selected as the winner based on their clear-cut design. They were provided with cash prizes and merit certificates. Participants were provided with participation certificates. This event helped the participants to showcase their circuiting abilities. The event was won by Ms. Emmidi Madhuri.

BINARY EVENT

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such technical event is the “Binary Event” which was held on 03.09.2021. About 35 students participated in the event and exposed their knowledge in binary. The event was hosted by Ms.A.Thavaloshini and the event was coordinated by Mr.N.S.Abishlal and  Ms.K.Sunitha. Among the 35 participants, 3 students were awarded prizes based on their performance. They were provided with cash prizes and merit certificates. Participants were provided with participation certificates. This event analyzed the binary language of the participants.The winners were Mr.Chekuri Hemandh Naidu(1st), Mr.Gunendra prasanth S(2nd), Mr.Gokul S(3rd).

CODING EVENT

CODING – a technical event in Womansera’21, An International WIE Symposium organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering. We had eleven different sets of questions from which the participants had to choose one to present on. Around 31 students from various colleges enthusiastically participated and cracked the coding event. Mr. Sounder M from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Ms. Aafreen Sana H from Sri Sairam Institute of Technology, and Mr. Guruakash from Bannari Amman institute of technology were the winners of this Coding Event. Ms. Jesse S hosted the event, which was magnificently coordinated by Ms. Priyanka J and Mr. Kavin D.

CONNEXIONS

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such Non-technical event is “Connexions” which was held on September 3rd, 2021. About 34 participated in this event. This is a connectivity game, where participants connect the pictorial clues to get the answers. The event was hosted by Ms. Christel Peeris and the event was coordinated by Ms. Maria Shirley John LM, Ms. Sunitha, and Mr. Rajesh S. E-Certificates were provided to the students who had participated in the event. Winners were awarded cash prizes and merit certificates. The event winners were Ms. Aafreen Sana H(1st), Mr. D.Monish Kumaar(2nd),  Ms. P S Navina Shri(3rd).

IDEA PITCH

Idea Pitch – a technical event in Womansera’21, an international symposium organized by the IEEE, Woman in Engineering Affinity Group of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering. We had eleven different topics from which the participants had to choose one to present on. Around 85 students from various colleges enthusiastically participated and came up with some truly incredible ideas. The event’s jury was Mr. Sreekanth R, Assistant Professor, IEEE Student Branch Counselor at St Joseph’s College of Engineering. Mr. Gokul S from Bannari Amman College of Engineering, Ms. Keerthi U from Sri Sairam Institute of Technology, and Mr. Guruakash were the winners of Idea Pitch. Ms. Jesse S hosted the event, which was magnificently coordinated by Ms. Priyanka J and Mr. Kavin D.

PAPER PRESENTATION

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such technical event was the “Paper Presentation” which was held on 05.09.2021. About 10 teams (34 students) participated in the event and presented their papers. The event was hosted by Ms.K.sunitha and Ms.A.Thavaloshini and the event was coordinated by Mr. N.S.Abishlal, Ms. Ananya P K, and Ms. Christel Peeris R. Three teams were chosen as champions from a total of ten teams. They were provided with cash prizes and merit certificates. Participants were provided with participation certificates. The winners were Ms. Aishwarya and team(1st), Ms. Tamizhselvi and team(2nd), Ms. Sandhya M, and team(3rd).

POSTER DESIGNING

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such Non-technical creative event is “Poster Designing” which was held on 4th September 2021. Poster designing is a creative competition, where the participants had to elaborate on the given topic in a nutshell with the help of the poster. The participants are given the topic “Women Empowerment ” to consider and they designed a poster with the platform of their interest. The event was hosted by Ms. Ananya P K and coordinated by Mr. Prasanthkumar AV and Ms. Ayesha Parveen I. The competition’s winners are as follows: Mr. Guruakash S M(1st), Ms. Buvana Chandran(2nd),  Mr. Prithvi P K(3rd). 

SELL MY PEN

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such Non-technical event is “Sell My Pen” which was held on 5th September 2021. About 30 participants were given a product to sell to the jury. The participant who performed the best on the assigned task was awarded as the winner. The participant’s product knowledge and communication skills were put to the test at this event. Mr. Prasanthkumar AV and Ms. Ananya P Korganized the event, and the event was hosted by Ms. Ayesha Parveen I. The winner of this competition is Ms. Aafreen Sana and she was awarded at the ending ceremony with cash prizes and merit certificates.

SHIPWRECK

IEEE St.Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized the Non-technical event “Shipwreck” under IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group on September 4th, 2021. About 24 participants participated in this event. In which the participants were allotted a celebrity name and were asked to justify to survive. This is an event that brings out spontaneity and also improves speaking ability. The event was hosted by Ms. Ananya P K and the event was coordinated by Ms. Christel Peeris, Ms. Maria Shirley John L M, and Ms. Sunitha. E-Certificates were provided to the students who had participated in the event. Winners were awarded cash prizes and merit certificates. The winner of this event is Mr. Gokul S.
 

SUDOKU

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such Non-technical event is Sudoku which was held on 3rd September 2021. Sudoku is a logic-based number-placement puzzle. It is a non-technical event where the objective is to fill a 9×9 grid. All the 32 participants were provided with login credentials to the website where they were provided with a few sudoku puzzles ranging from easy, medium to hard. The three participants who solved the puzzles first were awarded in the ending ceremony. The event was hosted by Ms. Ayesha Parveen I and the event was coordinated by Mr.Prasanthkumar AV and Ms. Ananya P K. The event winners were Mr. Amruth P(1st), Mr. Guruakash S M(2nd),  Ms. Godly Mabel(3rd).

TECHNICAL QUIZ

IEEE Women in Engineering  Affinity Group of St.Joseph’s College Of Engineering organized an International WIE Symposium“Womansera 21”. TECHNICAL QUIZ  is one of the technical events conducted in Womansera 21. The event was conducted on the Webex platform. The participants were instructed and led to the Kahoot platform for playing a technical quiz. The event had 2 rounds. The first round had 20 questions and the top 6 participants were selected to the final round which had 10 questions to play with. The event was hosted by Ms. Jesse S and Ms. Priyanka J. The student coordinators of the event are Mr.Kavin.D, Ms.Jesse S, Ms. Priyanka J. The winners were announced in the grand ending ceremony. The winners of the event were Mr . Gnana Padmesh C K, Mr.Roobash M, Ms . Keerthi U.

TREASURE HUNT

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. One such Non-technical event is the “Treasure Hunt” which was held on September 5th, 2021. About 37 participated in this event. The event took place in a platform where the participants need to feed the answer in which the fed answer takes to the next question. Participants’ knowledge skills were tested.  The event was hosted by Ms. Maria Shirley John L M and the event was coordinated by Ms. Christel Peeris and Ms. Sunitha. Winners were awarded cash prizes and merit certificates. The event winners were Ms. Aafreen Sana H(1st), Mr. Harini R(2nd).

PANEL DISCUSSION

IEEE Women In Engineering AG under St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch Chapter organized “WOMANSERA’21 – An International WIE Symposium”. The Panel Discussion was presented by four eminent speakers on the topic “Vital Role of IEEE in Career” on 05-09-2021. The participants gained knowledge about the career in IEEE and the speakers shared their experience in IEEE which was motivational to all participants. Ms. Udhayaraga welcomed the speaker with a citation note. The moderator of this event was Ms.Abinayaa Sri. Ms. Akshaya S concluded the event with a vote of thanks and Mr.Thiruvel presented the Momento for the speakers. Our SB Counselor Mr.Sreekanth thanked the speaker for the wonderful session.

WEBINAR 1 – Equip Yourself for an impact-driven and Innovation -oriented entrepreneurial ecosystem

As a part of the initiative, An International WIE Symposium titled “WOMANSERA’21” has been organized, the first webinar on 03/09/2021 was made vibrant with an enthralling speaker’s presence Ms. Simay Akar. The session was to enlighten us on “Equip Yourself for impact-driven and Innovation -oriented entrepreneurial ecosystem”, On an overview, the session was very motivating and made us think about what changes we can make in our lives to make the world a better place for everyone. About 200 participants from various countries around the world registered and benefited through  “WOMANSERA’21”. The event was hosted by Ms.Akshaya S and the query session was handled by Ms.Abinayaa Sri. By the end of the session, a memento was presented to Ms. Simay Akar by Mr.Arangan Rishikesh T to honor her.

WEBINAR 2 – Journey through IEEE

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering, IEEE Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized the “ Womansera’21-An International WIE Symposium ”. The second session was presented by Ms.Nita Patel on the topic “Journey through IEEE”, who is the Senior Director, Engineering Lead Design Center – Farmington at Otis, leading a critical part of global engineering development. Ms.Abinayaa Sri welcomed the speaker with a citation note. Ms. Nita Patel shared the experience of IEEE and inspired a lot of participants. She explored us through various fields and the benefits of IEEE. The participants were inspired by the journey and excited to join IEEE. The queries session was handled by Ms.Udhayaraga followed by the vote of thanks. Mr.Thiruvel presented the memento to the speaker. Mr.Sreekanth thanked the speaker for the wonderful session.

WEBINAR 3 –  Eminence building for women in the industry

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering IEEE Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized the “Womansera 21-An International Symposium”.The third session was presented by Ms.Geetika Tandon on the topic “ Eminence Building for Women in the Industry” who is the Managing Director at Deloitte Consulting. Ms. Jenin Benedict A welcomed the speaker with a welcome citation. She spoke about the role of women in many IEEE areas and explained her experience in the IEEE society. The participants learned the importance of women’s presence in the industry. The queries session was handled by Ms.Swetha.B followed by the vote of thanks. Mr.Thiruvel presented the Momento for the speaker. Our SB Counselor Mr.Sreekanth thanked the speaker for the wonderful session.

WEBINAR – Safe and responsible usage of Cyber Resources

IEEE St.Joseph’s College of Engineering Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized  “Womansera 21-An International Symposium”.The fourth session was presented by Ms.Mini Ulanat on the topic  “Safe and responsible usage of Cyber Resources”, who is the Systems Manager of Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT). Ms.Akshaya.S welcomed the speaker with a citation note. She explained the different cyber activities and how to overcome these issues. The participants gained knowledge about cyber crimes and cyber securities. The queries session was handled by Ms.Udhayaraga followed by the vote of thanks. Mr.Thiruvel presented the memento to the speaker. Dr.Venmathi Mahendren thanked the speaker for the wonderful session.

WEBINAR 5 – Women in STEM at the time of the pandemic

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering  IEEE Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized the “Womansera 21-An International Symposium”.The sixth session was presented by Dr.Cinzia Da Via on the topic “Women in STEM at the time of pandemic”. Professor of Physics at The University of Manchester, UK, and a Visiting Research Professor at Stony Brook University, USA. Ms.Akshaya.S  welcomed the speaker with a citation note. STEM is an important topic in which every woman needs to be involved. She briefed us on works the women did during the pandemic in STEM. The queries session was handled by Ms.Abinayaa Sri followed by the vote of thanks. Mr.Thiruvel presented the memento to the speaker. Mr.Srikanth thanked the speaker for the wonderful session.

WEBINAR 6 – Networking and Career Building

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering  IEEE Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized the “Womansera 21-An International Symposium”.The sixth session was presented by Ms.Uduak Akpanedet on the topic “Networking and Career Building”.She is a  Consultant Electrical Engineer within the Technology Team at ITPEnergised. Ms.Swetha welcomed the speaker with a citation note. She insisted every participant interact and made it an interactive session. The participants enjoyed the networking webinar through which they gained the skill to ask questions and interact with everyone. WEBINAR 7 – FUTURE – READY LEADERSHIP

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering IEEE Women in Engineering-Affinity Group organized the “Womansera 21-An International Symposium”.The seventh session was presented by Dr. Aishwarya Bandla who heads the Translational Core at The N.1 Institute for Health at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Ms. Jesse S welcomed the speaker with a welcome citation. A variety of factors motivated our decisions, including turnover, customer happiness, sales, revenue, productivity, and more. The queries session was handled by Ms. Maria Shirley John L M followed by the vote of thanks. Mr.Thiruvel presented the Momento for the speaker.
